artist/artsworker

I am an interdisciplinary artist/artsworker working in Toronto, Canada.
Whether in artistic or in administrative capacity, I attempt to offer my labour in the forms of simplicity, clarity, and care. On good days, I am working on kickstarting the grassroots artsworker collective: Labour In The Arts
My recent creative essay: Korean Seniors Don’t Care for Bingo, will come out on Choa Web Magazine in November 2022. My bilingual play Dead Korean Girl Comedy Show/처녀귀신 코미디 쇼, is currently in development supported by rice & beans theatre company’s Polyphonic Residency.
I recently worked as Marketing Manager at Theatre Passe Muraille, and currently work as Director of Communications at The Theatre Centre. I view administration as an intersection of my artistic practice (not something I do on the side in order to sustain my art).
I am Korean.

Land Acknowledgement

Tka:ronto has been a gathering place that has hosted stories and artists for thousands of years. As a first generation immigrant, I give my gratitude for the land that I get to call home. I acknowledge and stand in solidarity with the original caretakers of this land, the Anishinabek, Wendat, Haudenosaunee and the Mississaugas of the Credit. I promise to reside on this land thoughtfully, give thanks to water, and to be caring.
Anishnabeg, Chippewa, Haudenosaunee, Missisaugas of the Credit
